Intellect Is Limited. Any Explanation Cannot Deliver An Absolute Truth
Updated: Nov 9, 2024
The intellect has a tendency to break things down, analyze them, and dissect them from every possible angle. While this approach can be useful in many cases, it can also be a tragedy. By focusing all our attention on understanding one aspect of something, we risk losing the full perspective—the essence of what it truly is.
We often kill things with overanalysis, rather than allowing them to exist as they are. The relentless questioning of "Why?" can become exhausting. When we’re young, the constant stream of “why” questions is endearing and part of our curiosity. But as we grow, many of those questions become irrelevant, even annoying. We outgrow that endless need for answers.
Embracing Limitations and Enjoying the Mystery
It’s good to be curious, but we must recognize the limits of our ability to answer every question. Our perspective is limited, as are our senses. The world, in its entirety, is beyond our comprehension. Yet, it exists, functioning in ways that we may never fully understand.
Take, for instance, the planets. They don’t collide because of intricate, intelligent forces at work. But, no matter how much we try, it is impossible for the intellect alone to grasp the principle behind it. There are laws in nature far beyond what we can experience or imagine.
Letting Go of Overthinking and Living Fully
Perhaps it’s time to take life a little less seriously. The intellectual pursuit of knowledge—while valuable in certain contexts—can be restrictive. Sometimes, the true answers lie in embracing uncertainty. The feminine aspect of being—one that is more about receiving and feeling, rather than rationalizing—often provides the insights and intuition we need to understand life in a more profound way.
This kind of wisdom requires internal exploration. It’s about seeing that, after all, not everything needs to be fully understood in order to be valuable. Sometimes, when we stop obsessing over the details and immerse ourselves in the experience, we can understand things on a deeper level. It’s about living things rather than trying to rationalize them.
The Key to Unlocking Greater Understanding
Nei Qi Gong provides a way to do this—by connecting more deeply with the energy of our body and mind, we open ourselves to experiences that go beyond intellectual knowledge. It’s through practice and presence that we begin to unlock the wisdom and understanding that the intellect can’t always explain.
To start this journey of internal exploration, you don’t need to understand everything upfront. Just begin and allow yourself to experience.
